To begin with, assessing the learners knowledge and skills of English will determine the level of teaching English, from the very basics of the Alphabet and learning phonics to reading comprehension.

A suitable and effective approach to learning a new language is through the means of Communicative language teaching. This ensures that students can communicate effectively and confidently in real-life situations through student-to-teacher interaction. The aim is to have students learn a new language by actually using the language to communicate with those around them.
The integration of reading, writing, and speaking with the connection of real world experiences are implemented in the lessons to make for effective learning.

The aim is to put students in a variety of real-life situations, so that they can learn how to use their language skills to communicate in the real world. Through starting with conversational communication and translation to improve fluency of speaking English, to learning grammatically correct English. Asking meaningful questions with peers is one way of implementing this idea. The use of visual aids of everyday objects/tasks and keeping the learning simple is an effective way to learn and this will be implemented in lessons. Reading comprehension activitivites will be included further on in the lessons to deepen the understanding of the English language.


I believe it is important to work at the pace of the learner and have patience in order for the learner to develop their understanding where they encounter difficulties. Learning is not linear and varies according to each individual.
