For those who are older and already familiar with the language, I focus more on their problem areas, familiarising them with various grammar methods, teaching them conjugation in the more complex but still important tenses and having general and topic-oriented conversations.
When I was learning French, I did whatever I could to be surrounded by the language every day. I watched French movies, listened to French music, and read French books, and that is something I would recommend to all French learners.
And remember, as long as you give learning French your all, you're already better than you think you are.
