As a teacher with nearly 19 years Primary and Secondary classroom experience I have learnt the importance of making sessions fun and engaging whilst remaining focused on the learning objective for each session. Tutoring offers me the unique ability to utilise resources that you couldn't normally use in the classroom, helping to stretch and challenge tutees in unique and exciting ways.

Using enjoyable interactive games and activities I help students work on areas they are weak at, building their confidence in these skills. Using my experience as an expert examiner I coach my students in exam technique as I go, supporting them with exam style questioning and insights into how an examiner might assess their work. I also regularly revisit their needs to ensure that the focus areas we set at the start of their tuition are still relevant to the learning journey they are on.

I ensure I feedback to parents as necessary so that you know exactly where your child is at, how this compares to their peers and the areas we are currently working on. I encourage work outside of the session as a lot of the skills children need help with are skills that benefit from being practised away from the class. I also post challenge questions on my Facebook page so that you have the maximum opportunities to guide your childs learning when they are not in a lesson.
