I tutor through a mix of conversational language practice incorporating new vocabulary and key grammatical structures, and grammar tests, reading exercises and listening exercises. I place particular emphasis on the spoken language element to help my students become familiar with the sounds and intonation of the target language, so as to help them achieve a very natural-sounding, accomplished accent. I also adapt my style of teaching to the student, if they prefer or need more practice of grammar, for example, I can devise tests or exercises which address the specific grammatical issues I find they are having after speaking to them in the target language and reading their written work.
