Tianyi Zhang

G'day. My name is Tianyi Zhang, and I am a native speaker of Chinese from Beijing, China. I current live in Portugal, working as a Chinese teacher online.

I teach Chinese in English or Portuguese. I myself am a language fanatic and I adopt some of the techniques of learning I use to my teaching. I believe learning should be fun. Although I endorse the traditional way of teaching, I make adjustment to make learning more entertaining and less stressful. In my lessons, I explain everything using simple languages, and my focus is on communication and speaking. You will be encouraged to speak from Day 1, even if you are a complete beginner. I will help you get into the system of the Chinese language, and help you build your own sentences and vocabulary. Although I do not use many grammatical terms in my course, I can guarantee that you will learn how to say something and why it is said that way.

I speak Chinese, English, Portuguese, Afrikaans, Russian and some French. I studied linguistics at university, so I may be able to explain in your native language if it is not English.

I have taught Chinese for 6 years either in a class or private lessons. Over the years I have developed my own unique teaching method.
