At school I enjoyed Latin and Greek primarily because of my enthusiasm for the languages, which helped me to stand out in my classes, and later this grew into a love for the literature. Looking back on how important my teachers were to me as models, I hope to emulate their willingness to answer questions, which they did in such a way that the classical world seemed like an object of endless curiosity.
I have some experience of teaching, though not as a tutor, through service at school and at university. I will also be teaching English to primary school children Italy during the summer. I hope that my pupils will be willing to help me on my journey as I discover what methods work best, and will benefit from my recently being in their shoes.
I will mainly be available to tutor during the university vacation, which works out to just over half the year, so would be able to give recurring classes. I would also be willing to do one-off classes to help with particular issues.
Please let me know if you or your child would be interested!
