I enjoy working together with students to help them understand their interests. As a composition student at a postgraduate level, I am particularly interested in aiding secondary school students with their compositions, as well as music theory and musicological topics.
Through my lessons, I hope to better the student's knowledge of music through the inclusion of wider contexts to help them understand topics with a broader comprehension of the musical world. My lessons can be arranged either online or in person, and the style of content delivery can be greatly adapted to suit the needs and preferences of the student.; lessons can be delivered with a more presentation-style approach or can be done with more of a hands-on method. I am eager to help a student fully understand topics, so I am capable of teaching at a much slower speed should the student desire. Similarly, if the student is excelling, I can teach at a faster pace should the student feel comfortable.
My personality can be adapted to the desires of my employer; though I prefer to have a friendly and gentle dynamic with my students, I am also capable of having a stricter nature in my working life. Crucially, with this in mind, I would never jeopardise the students' relationship with and enjoyment of music.
I have previously taught piano and basic music theory to small children, and have acted as a student ambassador for music and the arts for universities, encouraging the study of music to secondary school children.
