Hi everyone! My name is Thom and I a professional English instructor and curriculum developer from England. I have about 10 years' experience and lots of good points and hacks to help you progress. I hope our lessons can be quite fun, as well! I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you succeed in your learning goals!

I have 10 years' experience — in both South Korea and Japan — and with all ages and class sizes. My accent is standard 'RP' British English ('Received Pronunciation'). I am TEFL certified and I have worked many years a curriculum developer, making content for published textbooks. I am happy to help with: (1) General, (2) Business, or (3) Academic English.

For *General English*, we can focus on 'real world' situations for travel and meeting new people. It is good to focus on real world situations here so we can role play (for example, ordering food at a restaurant). Another great way to learn is to have a focused discussion — daily news, politics, history, art. For stronger students, I think that's a great way to pick up new vocabulary.

If you would like to concentrate on *Business English* for your career, we can focus on formal introductions, making sales, negotiations, and so on. I have many years of experience teaching business managers and executives at corporations in Tokyo.

Finally, I can help you with *Academic English*. We can work together to write essays or prepare for seminars. I am very able to assist with social science/humanities subjects (including English Literature) and I have a lot of experience with all major tests - IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, EIKEN - I have even worked as a test examiner myself.
