To describe my first teaching experience, I was mainly in charge of teaching IGCSE students IGCSE English grammar when I worked for IGCSE training center in Mandalay, Myanmar. My responsibilities included preparing for lesson plans, designing other relevant teaching materials and evaluation of the student's level of understanding of the lessons as well as delivering IGCSE English lessons. In addition to the primary duty, I managed to give the necessary assistances to other English language teachers whose responsibility was to help develop the students' conversational skills.
Prior to my education service in IGCSE training center, I had worked for Sovereign Myanmar English Language Classes in Mandalay as a teaching assistant, which has helped me enrich with the experiential knowledge of how to work with teenage students. While making sure of their interactive responses to the lessons delivered by the main teachers, I facilitated in running talk shows, essay writing sessions and ice-breaking games to enrich their English vocabularies not only by following the guidelines but by adjusting them to the specific needs of certain students. I always managed to make sure to give constructive feedback so that this could develop their self-esteem, which was why they highly relied on me in making efforts to achieve their individual goals and I had positive relationships with them.
Learning from my teachers in the faculty of Social Sciences, Chiang Mai University, I managed to use different teaching methods depending on age ranges and education level of the students, ensuring their active participation. At the same time, the pre-lesson and post-lesson evaluations of the students' level of knowledge about English language are made on a regular basis to assess their comprehension. I regularly communicate with my students to keep track of their changeable educational needs and meet them through online and in-person interactive discussions.
