I am a Graduate from the University of Glasgow and in my time there have developed a lot of knowledge within the English subject. Throughout university and several jobs working with the public I have been able to work on transferable skills which I intend to use in my lessons. I have worked in a school previously which allowed me to develop my knowledge of the curriculum. I am a patient teacher and recognise that every student is unique, so taking this forward I will tailor my lessons to the student I am working with. This will entail work being provided at the right level, pace, and challenge. I will centre my lessons around the students in school lessons to enhance the knowledge they are already developing within school times. Any areas in which my students feel unfamiliar with I will strive to change that by the end of our time together. I am a dyslexic English graduate, so I understand the challenges many people may be facing with the subject and I hope to be an example to my students that you can achieve anything you put your mind to. Due to having dyslexia, my processing skills have always been slightly delayed, so I understand that bringing things back to basics and breaking down information allows a student to fully absorb the information given. This will also allow me to see the exact stage in which the student is struggling, making the lessons more effective and successful. Overall, the student comes first which means I will work my lessons to how the student learns best, making the learning process as smooth as possible, in turn allowing the student to gain their targeted success.
