About me

I offer group online tuition via zoom, to prepare children for the 11+. I offer classes for both Year 4 & Year 5. Class size is maximum 8 children. I have excellent subject knowledge and am an expert in the 11+ curriculum. I offer group online tuition via zoom, to prepare children for the 11+. I offer classes for both Year 4 & Year 5. Class size is maximum 8 children. I have excellent subject knowledge and am an expert in the 11+ curriculum. My approach is positive, fun and ‘no pressure.’ The children I work with achieve excellent results, as well as enjoying the journey. I cover all topics for exams written by GL, CEM & CSSE. I teach maths, comprehension, writing, SPAG. verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. Exam technique, tips and preparation are also woven into the sessions. I am well resourced and provide children with a variety of activities using whiteboards, discussion, practical exercises and interactive games and apps. Children really enjoy the sessions and make excellent progress as a result.

Theresa has tutored both my children for the 11+ tests and she really engages them. She is patient, encouraging and puts the children at ease very quickly. She gets to know each child individually and injects an element of fun into her sessions. Her delivery pace is just right and she is always happy to explain difficult points. The progress the children make with Theresa is very clear.

I would highly recommend Theresa as an 11 plus tutor. My daughter enjoys the group lessons and has learnt a lot, and never wants to miss it! Also Theresa communicates really well with parents so we know what has been covered each week and she sends a good amount of homework to do and practice papers. Definitely very happy we chose her as a tutor for year 5.

Theresa Cox has work with our son over the past year in preparation for the 11+ exams. From the very beginning, she has shown exceptional patience, understanding, and a real talent for teaching. One of the things we’ve appreciated most is the way Theresa identified and focused on our son’s weaker areas, always explaining things clearly and encouraging him to build confidence without ever overwhelming him. The balance of work each week has been just right—challenging enough to keep him progressing, but never too much to cause stress. Her communication has also been excellent. We receive regular updates and progress reports, which help us stay informed and feel confident in how things are going.
