I have experience working with younger people and helping them to succeed when I worked as a student ambassador for my university. As part of this I helped year 10's and year 12 students through a days programme, I got split into individual groups and had to help explain things to them and also help them to complete tasks. I also have good communication skills when it comes to describing how to complete tasks when I worked as a climbing instructor and got my indoor climbing wall assistant certificate. For this job I needed to describe to children and adults how to be safe on the wall and how to be competent enough rope climbing that they could go off and do it themselves.
In my sessions I will help the student to understand things they are struggling with by giving them the support they need, I will help them enough to understand it and be competent in the areas necessary but not too much so that they don't do any of the work.
My format will be helping the student grasp the concepts they need at the beginning and the ones they don't understand and getting them to a good level of competency in these areas. I will then help them apply these concepts to any problem sheets or questions they have by giving example step by step questions and then any further support they need to answer these questions.
I feel that it would benefit students trying to learn physics if the content being taught is coming from someone who doesn't have a big age gap from themselves and has been taught the same content as they have in recent years.
