Tutoring is a role I take seriously, with prior experience tutoring students of all ages (11+, GCSE maths and sciences, A Level Maths). Identifying and working on weaknesses, adapting a teaching scheme/plan to the specific student, and letting the student communicate with the teacher (and not just the other way round) are extremely important aspects of what I deem to be a good tutor. Arguably the most important is building a rapport and a friendship with the student, which is intrinsic to my tutoring style, as a student has to be comfortable with the teacher to be comfortable with the subject. This is a necessary approach for the success of students who are tutored, and I believe it is this stance that helped my students get into their first choice grammar schools, as well as achieve grades 7-9 in their GCSEs.

Independent study is also very important in growing as a student and progressing, so homework is something I implement in my lessons; whether that may be finishing a task from the lesson, trying some more challenging and pushing problems on the topic we covered, or doing independent research on the topic to strengthen their foundations and further their knowledge surrounding it.

I am currently on a gap year, looking to study Mathematics at university starting 2025. I am a proficient mathematician with a love for all areas of academia in general, and I aim to incite a similar desire for knowledge within all those whom I may work with.
