I am writing to express my motivation and interest to work as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Computer
Science at your institution. I received my B.Sc. in Computer Science from Gondar University,
Ethiopia, in 2010, M.Sc. in Computer Science from Andhra University, India, in 2015, and Ph.D. in
Computer Science and Technology at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China
(UESTC), China, in 2021. The Minster of Ethiopian higher education directly nominated and assigned me to Dilla University because of my outstanding achievement in B.Sc. degree. Therefore, I worked at Dilla University from 2010 to 2013 through various academic ranks, including Graduate Assistant I, Graduate Assistance II, Assistance Lecturer. In August 2013, I got a Master’s degree scholarship to join Andhra University, India, for two years. It was a terrific academic year, and I graduated with the first class. Besides my Master’s degree work, I joined various training centers to improve my programming skill and problemsolving techniques. After graduation, I returned to Dilla University and served for two years as Lecturer.
I have taught undergraduate students various computer science courses, including Advanced
database, Data mining and machine learning, Operating system, and Advanced programming In JAVA. Besides teaching-learning activities, I engaged in administrative work, community services, designing projects and curricula. I have also served as Assistance Registrar in the College of Engineering and Technology for one year.
In August 2017, I obtained a Ph.D. Chinese government scholarship (CSC) admission at UESTC,
China. I have gained a wide range of knowledge and experiences that I have applied to recent scientific research and working with teamwork. My Ph.D. dissertation focus on “Research on Graph Computing in Massive Interconnected Data”. I explore Big data technology, graph computing, graph partitioning, graph processing systems, and machine learning. Therefore, I eagerly look forward to filling scientific research gaps and working on projects in emerging paradigms.
In September 2021, I joined the Postdoctoral Fellowship at Zhejiang Normal University, China. I
expand my research interest and collaborate with scholars in various research paradigms. My research interests include Big data, Graph processing systems, Graph partitioning, graph database, machine learning, Deep learning, Blockchain, Computational offloading and resource allocation 5G/Beyond 5G, and Automatic Speech recognition. Besides my research, I have been teaching Big Data Technology and Application course for Computer Science and Software Engineering students at Zhejiang Normal University for two semesters in (2022 and 2023). I have been also participating in peer reviews of different academic journals and I am a technical member of two international conferences.
After completing my postdoctoral fellowship in China, I moved to Scotland, UK, via a Global Talent visa to join UKRI research founder project at the University of Aberdeen as a Research fellow. Until
now, I have been working collaboratively to integrate IoT and AI in the Agri-Food sectors to achieve
sustainability. I am very creative, always looking for technical challenges, and enjoy working on solutions; I can develop solutions from limited and available resources. And I am very dedicated (almost obsessive), starved for understanding new technologies and how to hack them for different applications, adaptive, and a fast learner. I am a very good programmer with knowledge of other programming languages. And I am also very good at developing custom algorithms for new a challenge rather than reusing a less efficient one for the new challenge. As a result of my specialization, I’d like to work as Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at your institution. Therefore, I’m writing to inquire about your willingness to accept my application to your University. Thank you in advance for taking the time to verify and review my application
request.
Sincerely,
