As a student, I am very familiar with exam-focused teaching such as going through past paper questions and focusing on weak areas. I achieved all grade 9s in 11 GCSEs as well as an A in Additional Maths, so my exam experience is extensive. I offer a unique insight into the most up-to-date GCSE exam techniques and I would hope to reduce exam stress with a friendly and informal teaching style.

With a focus on maths, I will confidently teach KS1 and KS2 topics, as well as secondary level and GCSE level concepts. My exam revision put me in a strong position for exams so I know which techniques are particularly helpful to students, while I would always teach with an awareness that we all need different approaches. It’s important to bear in mind that maths presents different challenges for all of us, and I will endeavour to familiarise students with exam formats so that upcoming tests or lessons seem less intimidating.

A typical lesson would include a quick overview of a topic of your choice, with opportunities to ask questions. I would then present a past paper question or relevant question for you to tackle on your own. After a short time we would mark the question together using a past paper mark scheme, honing in on areas which may seem especially confusing. We would then try more questions until the format becomes more familiar and you are comfortable with the methods needed to solve the problem.
