I prefer to elicit words from students rather than lecture where possible and encourage them to converse with each other regularly.
I introduce light humour into lessons which always helps them relax and enjoy the experience.

By briefly explaining the history of Britain I paint a picture of why there are many variations in the language e.g. Old English, Celtic, Saxon, New Norse, Latin etc.
I use materials; Flash cards, a clock for telling the time in English e.g “ it’s nearly half past nine “ “ coming up to twelve O clock “ - this is how natives often state the time,
also pictures and where appropriate- videos etc. as well as other ad -hoc aids.
I structure and adapt my lesson accordingly depending the location, the demographic and level of English required.
My aim is to ensure the students enjoy my lessons and attain the level of English required.
