I will teach with examples of art work from Cave paintings to Contemporary art via Powerpoint and Zoom. My experience teaching this way began when COVID started and I taught on line via Powerpoint and Zoom to my three classes of 15-20 students.
My lessons included hands on drawing and site installations in order to have the students experiment with materials and space within their own environment. Each assignment was presented with a powerpoint of artists addressing similar processes and materials ending with a class discussion or questions answered.
I found that teaching this way was challenging yet it was very personal and effective allowing me to have individual meetings more frequently.
One project, as an example, was presenting a Hockney collage project for Photo for non Art Majors. I had students venture out into their environments and take multiple imager - and I demonstrated how - of a space that they found interesting and have them narrow the photos they took to either 10 or 20 images or more. After this they put the images pasted on a large sheet of paper for critique.
