I have a Physics degree from QUB (2.1) and have high grades in both Maths (A at A-Level, A* at Maths GCSE, A in Additional Maths at GCSE) & Physics (B at A-Level, AA in Double award Science at GCSE). I have a Physics degree from QUB (2.1) and have high grades in both Maths (A at A-Level, A* at Maths GCSE, A in Additional Maths at GCSE) & Physics (B at A-Level, AA in Double award Science at GCSE). I have a great understanding of both the subject material and (more importantly in my opinion) a proficiency for exam technique. The format for lessons will be to explain and understand the material by practising mock exam questions from past papers and constantly repeating with my guidance. Ultimately students are judged on how well they know a subject by how well they do on exams, hence why this will be the focus and I know from personal experience that this is the best way to achieve the highest mark possible. I am not a teacher which I think is a benefit for a tutor because it is a positive change of "scenery" for a school student and allows them to experience the subject at hand from a different angle which can improve their understanding.

Lessons plan: I will start by myself and the student going through a mock exam and communicating out loud, question by question, on what thoughts they would have when facing each question to get to know their thought processes as they would tackle an exam. This also can indicate which areas they struggle with. I would then go through the exam as I would think and convey how to understand critical thinking/process driven thought processes during. We will then go through a past paper together and repeat until I feel they are ready to do an exam on their own without my input. This will be the ultimate test for any numerical subject and if they improve in this aspect then the tutorage would be worth it.
