I tutored K-9th grade students as a math tutor for a year and a half. In my experience since I am on the younger side of tutors I feel most students feel as if I'm a friend over someone who is worrying to them. As a Math tutor I love to first talk to the student and figure out if they are wanting help on a specific topic or if they would like to learn a brand new topic. I love asking them the way they prefer to do math since ever student is very different in the techniques they use during any lesson and or topic. With this knowledge I start my lessons in the way I feel is best fit and easiest for them to enjoy and understand. With any conflicts or situations where the student is not understanding or grasping the information well I switch the way I am teaching even if its a brand new way for the student I guide them through every step to make sure I can help this road block. I work well with online websites, physical papers and sharing a screen to write work and steps on a tablet(which works hand in hand with physical papers). I am still working on a set format to use as a online tutor but I feel I can teach well enough to cover that situation. Its an amazing experience to see kids blossom and grow not only as a person throughout my lessons but as a student. Thank you for looking at what I have to offer!
