What is most important to me is that I find an approach that the student is comfortable with so that they can enjoy their learning experience.
When I was being taught as a child, I had various different teachers, and I remember at times being put off practising and progressing purely because I didn't enjoy the way I was being taught. Therefore, while I have material that I'll use to teach technique as part of my lessons, this can be tailored to what you want to learn and, according to my friends, I'm a very patient and calm teacher!
Since the age of 7, I've received a classical training in singing, cello, and double bass, with which I have taken many exams and done many performances. As a teenager I began learning bass guitar and this influenced my style of playing of other instruments, beginning to explore folk music and jazz. Since then, during my time at University and beyond I've found myself playing in an increasingly diverse musical style and hope that you will find me to be very flexible when teaching. Having an eclectic taste in music combined with an in depth understanding of music theory means that I can provide you with lessons that can cater to your needs and help you to fulfil your musical ambition!
