My areas of focus in past tutoring experiences have been Grammar, writing and speaking practice, although I also have experience assisting secondary school classes in English literature. I have mainly taught students in primary and secondary school but my lessons are not restricted to any age group or English level.
My typical lesson will be split up into 3 parts, we will use the first 10 minutes to warm up by having an easy going conversation and discussing the content of the lesson or having a small recap of the material covered in previous lessons. We will then move on to whatever subject area the student needs help in, whether this be grammar, writing or speaking. At the end of the lesson we will go over any new vocabulary that has come up throughout the class as well as discussing any useful tips or tricks that the student can make use of to practice what has been learnt.
If my students need help with a specific project, such as preparing a presentation, writing a personal statement or essay, I can provide useful public speaking, editing and writing tips to make their work more eloquent or professional.
I speak English and Spanish fluently and Catalan, French and German at a high level, so if students need help with translation from one of these languages into english, or require a tutor who can speak their native language I can provide this as well.
My priority is creating a comfortable and safe environment for my students, so that they can build their language proficiency as well as their confidence.
