have past experience tutoring children of ages from 10-11 at Primary schools and Year 7 and Year 8 students who are in High school taught online and this includes teaching mathematics and sciences. At first I like to teach the topic step by step breaking down every piece of information so my student understands why every step is done and then I follow up by doing two examples and including the student then I ensure they do as much practise questions which get increasingly harder because I find with maths that practise is key to master the skill. From this experience, I have learned that patience is key as with younger children, they may not understand the first time or their concentration may not be at the fullest yet with these challenges I have learnt to always be resilient and teach them to do so aswell which is key when learning. Also, I would like to add that from a young age I have been privately tutored myself so I know exactly how it feels being the student as well which helps me understand how they feel in challenging moments and therefore I know how to support them to their fullest potential.
