“Hello, my name is Tansy! I am a passionate and experienced linguist, translator and language tutor with many years’ experience delivering language classes to a diverse range of learners, from young children to adults. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies. I am based in London and have lived and worked, both teaching and translating, in Spain and Costa Rica. As a linguist and translator, I have an in-depth understanding of the nuances of language and excellent communication skills which feed into my language teaching, and I am keen to share my passion for languages. I believe that learning should be engaging and fun and I use various teaching methods and strategies to ensure my students’ lessons are interactive and above all enjoyable and rewarding. I tailor my lessons to your individual needs, so whether you're a beginner or aiming for advanced proficiency, I am committed to helping you achieve your language goals with confidence. I have endless patience and work with students to ensure the lessons are at a level and pace that meet their needs. I can support students with conversational fluency, reading and writing skills, exam preparation, for example, A level or GCSE Spanish, or simply getting their language skills off the ground. I can help you build a strong foundation in Spanish, whatever your level or language-learning background. I am available evenings for after-school tuition and also have some availability during the daytime on weekdays.
