Hello, so I will be using either google meet or Microsoft teams for lessons and ill always ask the student to let me know in advance what subject and topics they need help on.
I have tutored in the past privately and while I was at school for my A levels I was a peer mentor and was in charge of helping run some of our GCSE science classes and extra curricular science clubs.
I have a lot of experience with children and teens with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and slow processing and know of many learning methods that may help them during their exam season.
A power point presentation will be made for each lesson unless agreed otherwise for something else (for example exam paper practice).
We'll run through the power point and there will be practice questions at the end of varying difficulty.
I will use past papers from varying years and we will work through them together and I will also give them questions to do as homework. If something is not understood we will work through the mark scheme and each step will be explained clearly.
All sessions will be based off of what the student requires and what their individual grade goals are and what they would want out of each lesson.
My aim is to find a teaching and explanation method that works for each student so if the basic format that I have doesn't work for them we will try an alternative method like videos or alternative explanation and I'll talk them through the videos and use outside resources I used myself during my GCSE's.
I am also familiar with the new grading system as it was used for me as well so this should not be an issue.
