I often help my younger sister with her English work from school. Any homework from a child’s school will be completed with my help, I will conjure up questions and explain any mistakes made, as well as praising all work completed with effort! I strive to have a friendly connection as well as being a tutor, any school problems I’ll listen to and help to the best of my ability, as I am experienced with children this age due to my younger sister in year 5. I will encourage my tutees to work as hard as they can and become resilient even in times of struggle! Furthermore, my aim is to raise children to work at the same rate as their classmates, or preferably, even at a higher level than them. This in turn will improve their confidence and resilience; which will encourage them to continue working hard to achieve important goals they will face as they grow up. From experience, I feel strongly as though being a friend as well as a tutor will strongly influence and encourage children to put in all the work they possibly can. As they could see the dynamic as more of a friend/ younger tutor who they can talk to rather than an older teacher/ child relationship. Although english is my main tuition subject, as I have continued it through to A-level degree, other subjects such as maths or spanish I am also happy to help with if needs be! Thanks for reading!
