Learning should never be boring! That's always been my mantra in teaching. I have worked in education for a total of 9 years. I have been a qualified primary school teacher for the last 7 years and have experience in KS1 and KS2.
I have extensive knowledge of the curriculum as well as best practices for ensuring progress for all types of learners, including learners with SEND.
I have been a tutor for the last couple of years, so I have a lot of experience with 1:1 tuition.
It's really important to engage all learners, so what best way to do that, than to start with a game! Games are a great way to start each session and it also develops reasoning and problem solving skills as well as developing fluency skills - that means being able to recall various number facts at a good speed. The children that I have tutored really benefit from this particular structure as it sets the tone for the remainder of the session.
I have experience in tutoring Maths, English and Reading.
Each session is tailored to the child's needs and level of ability, which is closely monitored and evaluated to maximise output during the sessions, to ensure progress is being made in a measurable way. It is important that children are aware of their learning goals so that we go on the journey together.
I can not wait to be your tutor so we can build your confidence and develop your love of learning!
