I have studied Psychology at GCSE (7), A-Level (A), and currently on my Psychology Undergraduate degree on my second year at University (averaging a 1:1). It is within my plans to also achieve a Masters and Doctorate with the end goal of becoming a Clinical Psychologist!
Over the course of my studies, I have become aware of different types of studying that is best to maximise learning, and has lead me to excel within this field.
After helping my younger sister go through her GCSEs, I have found my passion of learning, as well as teaching this subject.
The foundations of my teaching techniques include pinpointing the main topic areas that require greater understanding - we will go through these together till a basic level of understanding is gained. Using active recall techniques and personalised tests, we can note knowledge progression and areas to revisit. Topics which you are confident in will routinely be revisited in a schedule we formulate together to ensure memory is continuously strengthened.
I will work with you to figure out which study methods work best in your individual case, and provide you with step-by-step methods on how to use these outside of our lessons.
To ensure that you gain the most out of our sessions, I will be doing my own work to formulate engaging PowerPoints and create mock-exams specific for you.
Just like other skills, studying requires patience and determination to grow, which I commit to help you develop with my person-centred and compassionate approach to teaching.
