As I'm a university student I understand how English classes at Secondary school may be draining and sometimes it may not be that helpful when you're already struggling. I would listen to you explain what you struggle with exactly and practice annotating passages and writing about them with you, During annotations and writing feel free to highlight what does not make sense to you. I will encourage you to write your work after writing things together, however again, if you require assistant do not hesitate to ask. If you are in KS1 or 2, the method of teaching I would use is to initially listen to anything the student struggles with and then use a drawing platform to be able to write and explain as they would do in class.
