I enjoy using comedy to help students learn, especially when it comes to languages. I plan my lessons beforehand but tend to leave parts where I can be less robotic and 'teacher-y', and more easy and relatable. I've learnt from being in education, that the more your teacher can relate to you and understand you the more you want to learn. I would first see how much you know by setting up a small assessment and then plan my lessons accordingly. I will make it fun and enjoyable and we will have a laugh while learning! My goal is to see you happy and to see the progress we made from day one. Be patient. I won't expect you to speak like Queen Elizabeth after the first day, so don't expect that of yourselves! I have seen many adults who are thinking about going to get lessons in English but they are embarrassed about it. Don't be. You are bettering yourself, you are working on improving yourself and you should be proud.
I will go through the initial amount of weeks I feel you will need with me, after the initial assessment. If I see that you do well in class, but don't do well in tests I will take it into consideration when marking your work. Communicate with me about your feelings. I can be here for you as a friend more than a teacher at times as I feel that is very important in education. Be yourself, let me help you be the person you want to be, and like I said, DON'T BE AFRAID! I am here for you.
