I use problem based learning (PBL) to help students understand Constitutional Law, EU Law, International Law, and more specialized fields, such as Trade and Investment Law. The essence of PBL is to focus on a specific legal problem at the beginning of the lesson. Once the problem is identified, the student then goes on a journey to find a solution to the problem. By doing so, abstract legal concepts become a lot easier to understand. PBL also enhances students' skills in legal research, legal writing, critical thinking, and the practical application of the law.

Students will also understand how to write legal essays and use the IRAC (Issue, Rule, Application, Conclusion) method for solving problem questions. Often, in exams, students forget to focus on the most important element of the IRAC method, the Application part, applying the law to the specific facts of the case. I will also help students write essays and dissertations, which are important for their undergrad and postgrad degrees. For dissertations students need to focus on tackling the What, Why, and How questions, so as to provide the reader with a very clear understanding of the topic, methods, and objectives of the essay.

Regarding my experience, I have 13 years of experience in Higher Education, in the UK (University of Birmingham and Keele), Norway (University of Oslo), Denmark (University of Aarhus), and the Netherlands (University of Amsterdam and the Hague). I also publish in world leading academic journals and act as Managing Editor for a prestigious journal.
