Hi! My name is Sylwia. I was born in Poland 32 years ago, but I have lived in the UK since currently in Wales.
I am a qualified teacher, I have a bachelor's degree in English Philology. My approach to teaching is ambiguous as I understand that we are all different when it comes to our goals, needs or even personalities. Therefore, I prefer to first meet my student and learn as much I need about them in order to design the best way of our lessons.
I will adjust our lessons to your level and goals, but also interests to keep you engaged. I am a versatile person with interest in many fields such as culture, literature, cooking, natural building, carpentry, politics, cinema, music, and recently forestry - I even purchased a forest, where I currently live.
As no one enjoys being judged, marked or corrected, I aim to create a positive and safe environment for my students, where pointing mistakes out create a chance to develop rather than feeling embarrassed. I like the idea that learning is a social process, therefore our interaction is crucial to the learning process.
Finally, my experience. I taught English in a primary school after graduating. Later, having lived in the UK I've had a chance to tutor people from different countries - both English and Polish. Always discussing your needs first and then adjusting and setting goals together.
