I have done bachelor's in Software Engineering and have experience in the programming languages In python java and c++. I believe that programming is a practical subject and it requires a lot of practice and cant be done on a piece of paper so I teach programming on a computer doing all the practical tasks that are on the programming tools so that students can understand that properly. My way is to teach students by giving regular quizzes and assigning them tasks so that they could work on that task that could give them a better understanding of the course that they are studying. These things could also give them a better understanding and good grades.
