Hi! My name is Sydney! I am a New Yorker who is currently undertaking her Master's degree at the University of Glasgow. My lesson plans for teaching English rely on fun and interesting materials in order to facilitate conversations! I am a big believer that using the languge is the best way to learn, so I like to engage many speaking and listening activites such as watching cool shows and then discussing them (any videos will have captions on if necessary and availible), reading exercises and listening exercises. I have a couple months experience volunteering as an English tutor and a lot of experience as a language student myself: I have studied, Spanish, French, Arabic and Portuguese. I have found that I feel the most comfortable and my students did as well when we created a relaxing environment in the class that focused on naturally getting used to engaging with native english. When you come to my class dont be afraid to say the wrong thing as you will learn that normally there is no one right way to say anything in English! Mistakes are all part of the journey!
I can work with any student that wants to improve their conversational English with a native American speaker. Feel free to reach out and ask anything that comes to mind and I will respond normally within a day or two!
