I became interested in history at the age of 15 when I had a fantastic teacher. She made everything come alive for me. The French Revolution sizzled with excitement under her tutorship. Before this, I couldn't image how events that took place 200 years ago could possibly be of interest to me, a teenager. She helped me see that the lessons of history are there to help us live in the now. Moreover, we can't just accept as gospel what historians say. We must learn to make an argument in our own voice. We must understand that every historian has done just this. We can form an impression of events in our mind and we must offer our own world view too. This is how a student becomes distinct. Nobody wants to read the same essay that anybody can write. We want to read a skillfully researched piece that oozes with voice., with daring, with verve. We want to be challenged and wowed. Don't forget, we want to be on a ride with the author, we want to be part of that journey and we want to trust you. Be that student. Dare to challenge your own excellence. I can help you get there, and I will.
