My name is Susana. I was born in Spain and am a native Spanish-English bilingual person.
I have been lucky enough to live and work in many countries. I lived in Spain, and live here now, the United States, Mexico and the Middle East to name a few places. I feel that my travels, studies and work experiences in different countries has greatly enriched what I bring to the classroom as a language teacher. I have taught in schools and universities and also privately. I also teach online classes. I work with seven languages as I am a translator and interpreter as well as being a language teacher. I have many years of experience in both teaching and learning languages so I am aware of the challenges and joys of learning languages. I create classes to meet my students needs, objectives and interests. The classes I offer are student centered and are based on what the student would like to do, so each class is unique and individual, and created for the student. These are custom made classes.
I have a B.A degree in Spanish Literature and Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico, U.S.A and M.A studies in Language Acquisition from the University of Texas at Austin. U.S.A. I also have a CELTA certificate from Cambridge University.
Some of my students are interested in practicing conversation. We choose topics of conversation and build up vocabulary, pronunciation and fluency. Some students would like to pass an examination, so we prepare for the examination. Other students would like to give presentations or attend conferences, so we work on the presentation and work on the topic and content of the conference. Some students want to learn to speak another language for fun, and so we do just that. In all cases, classes are creative, dynamic and enjoyable both for me as the teacher and for my students. I look forward to Spanish classes with you.
