I believe making lessons fun and creative can achieve a great learning experience for students. Some of the ways I incorporate this into my lessons is allowing students to actively engage with the resources through interactive games, quizzes, role-playing in situational scenarios & presenting key information in the form of an anecdote or story.
I also love music and have a deep understanding and appreciation of learning languages through music and rhymes related to learning materials. I think it makes lessons fun, dynamic & captivating - who doesn’t love a catchy song?
One of the key ways I was able to teach younger students was through visual aids (a great way for adults to learn too!) Utilising diagrams, charts, videos and infographics can help illustrate concepts and make them more memorable. In a day and age where technology is increasingly prevalent, having visual aids can help a great deal when it comes to learning not only English, but much more around digital and paper skills that you might not always learn in regular school lessons.
I strongly believe learning any language doesn’t need to be a challenge. With the help of visual concepts, music, interactive games & storytelling it’s also equally important to just have a conversation. Chatting about your experiences, day to day tasks and your interests is important and super helpful to getting to know students and equally for them to know their teacher. With the help of speaking skills, writing should be a breeze! I look forward to teaching.
