I'm studying Mathematics at the University of Liverpool after getting grade 9 across the board at GCSE and AABB in Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science and Physics at A-Level. I've been passionate about maths education for quite a few years, and it's my aspiration to become a teacher as a career in the future. I love helping out when someone doesn't understand or wants to understand further because I feel like everyone benefits; when I'm able to break down my own knowledge to be palatable for somebody else, I'm reinforcing what I already know. I'll always assert that you never stop learning!
I've been tutoring younger students and peers for just over 1 year, and now that I'm at university I have all the knowledge required to teach students at all levels of secondary education (GCSE, iGCSE, AS-Level and A-Level), as well as to take them above and beyond their curriculum. Lessons can be between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the particular requirements of the student, and I will work with each student to take them from the fundamentals through to the complexities of every concept that they want to learn about, regardless of what their ability level is to begin with. The structure is largely varied depending on the requirements of the student, so it could involve a tutorial-style session going through homework problems from school, or it could involve the explanation of altogether new/unfamiliar concepts in a one-to-one lesson. If the student would like, I will be able to provide personalised homework to be able to challenge their weak areas.
