Hello, I'm Suheila and I'm passionate about education and helping students reach their full potential. With 4 years of experience as a tutor, I've had the privilege of working with diverse learners in subjects such as English, Maths, Science and Music. My teaching philosophy centre's on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, explore their curiosities, and develop critical thinking skills.
I hold a Criminology BSc degree and have a strong background in SEND. Whether it's mastering challenging concepts, improving study skills, or preparing for exams, I'm here to guide you on your educational journey. I'm excited to work with you, tailor our sessions to your unique learning style, and help you achieve your academic goals.
Feel free to reach out, and we can get started on your path to success!
Additional Information:
Born in the UK, I have been speaking English my entire life, as well as Portuguese. My approach to teaching is mostly task-based, as I believe that reading and writing should be taught simultaneously as speaking. I will put my students in real life situations, requiring them to use language and skills in practical ways. There will be 50/50 focus on both practical approaches and theoretical skills. Students will for example have to give presentations, create campaigns, and even do some acting! I enjoy having fun and engaging my students. Being interactive is the best way to stimulate cognition. I have been teaching for 4 years. My students come from all backgrounds and academic needs. I have extensive experience working SEND and EAL pupils. I have taught students of all ages; 2 year olds, all the way through to 70. I enjoy music as part of teaching, as it helps the brain to process and recall information with greater ease - this is scientifically proven!
