At GCSE I received a 9 in English language and a Grade 8 in Literature. At A - level after studying combined English language and literature I received an A-A.
When teaching English, I would first begin with gaining an understanding of my students skill and understanding- try to pin point where the specific gaps in knowledge are. This could be done through a general conversation or a game.

After, I have mapped out where our focus needs to be placed - I take steps to strip that subject into three parts : the basics, how to get a B and how to get your As and A*’s.
