Sue Pound

My background began in Art & Design which evolved into Theatre Studies and subsequent jobs in prop making, model making, set design and window displays for department stores.
This gave me a strong foundation of working in a vast area of media from tiny architectural models through to enormous welded frames to support carved styrofoam.

All of this grounding paved the way for teacher training in Design & Technology with a specialism in Graphics where I immediately enjoyed working in a workshop environment and helping students realise their design ideas.

I have since gained experience as a Tutor and Head of Year whilst working within the DT department to become Subject Leader, a post I have had for over ten years.
I have an excellent track record in respect of Exam results and have always enjoyed a great working rapport with students throughout all Key Stages.
I have run STEM workshops, the Young Enterprise Scheme, craft workshops and organised trips within the UK and Europe to enhance student appreciation of design.

My love and knowledge of the subject will be evident through engaging and creative lessons, covering a wide range of media and skills to scaffold learning. I have a wealth of experience in delivering classes across TEAMS and Zoom.
I will tailor and prepare quality resources for lessons and give students choices on how they may wish to develop skills further through stand alone homework or project-based tasks.
