My name is Sue and I have a passion for helping people to achieve their potential. I have taught French and English to non native speakers. I have also taught GCSE candidates the full syllabus for English Language. I adapt my teaching to the learning needs of the student and research approaches when I am unsure.
I teach both in person or online and use platforms such as Discord, Google Meet, Teams, and WhatsApp. If you are local to me, I can come to your home. I currently only offer this to students within a 10-minute radius of my home.
I draw in some classical education approaches to help my students and try to reinforce the idea that they have to treat the person reading their written projects as someone who knows absolutely nothing about the topic. This idea encourages them to include much more detail than they otherwise would.
I am a retired home educator and am happy to work with home educators to support their children as they prepare for their IGCSE English Language exams. I taught my own children and those of my friends the IGCSE English Language syllabus from start to finish. Some students were ready for their exams more quickly than others. I adapted my style to each student.
I would love to work with you and I look forward to hearing from you. I offer a free taster session so that I can determine if we are a good match for each other.
