I have experience teaching children through tutoring my siblings and it helps me realise patience is a must when teaching children.
I plan on using exam questions as well as going through the basics of what I am going to teach them. For example, lf i am teaching basic addition, i will first show how to add via using visual cues such as tally marks, then i will let them have a go at a question and when they have a basic understanding i will give them an exam question relative to their age.
I will try my hardest to make the learning experience to be unique and fun in order to try get the information into the long term memory in which will help the student have great success in exams.
For older students i will teach simple revision techniques like the Cornell note taking method being very effective, how to make flashcards and exam techniques that will help the student with exams.
I will most likely be using an online whiteboard for the majority of teaching but for exam questions i will be taking from the relevant exam board the student is studying from whether it be AQA or OCR etc.
