Before the process of teaching starts we will have to learn about each other a bit. You can ask me a few questions and I will ask about your general interests, your attitude to mathematics and what you know about the role of mathematics in life. To be effective I will have to check you knowledge of the subject. This is always a bit unnerving, but I will try to do it as gently as possible. Then you will tell me what you want to learn.
I believe in teaching from the foundations, so if they are not sound we will try to fix them. If you are happy with our first encounter we will negotiate the next topic together and I will try to keep this habit for as long as our teacher-pupil relation is going to last.
You will be required to make notes and give summaries, reproduce proofs of statements and do exercises at home. If you are interested in some particular subject, I might point you to some free and useful resources.
If we are not making progress together I might recommend you to somebody else. Maybe you will progress so fast, that you will exceed my level of competence - that would be my dream scenario.
