Hi,

My name is Stu and I have been teaching guitar for a LONG time! I love guitar music in all its amazing forms and nothing pleases me more in guitar lessons than to hear someone play something new for the first time

Lessons with me focus on a range of fundamental skills to enable players to find and develop their own musical voice.

For example, there are cornerstones of technique that everyone should know, irrespective of ability. These allow players to fully realise their potential and personal skill level.

Developing a grasp of basic musical theory, specifically focussing on the guitar and bass, is another fundamental skill and 'enabler'.

Helping students to develop an 'ear' for music that goes beyond just listening and allows them to dissect songs and create their own.

Lessons focus, in equal measure, on chords and scales to develop an understanding of the fundamental relationship between the two.

We look at students favorite tunes and artists to help develop their personal playing styles.
We also look at songwriting and composition, how to get started and how to develop those ideas.

I provide all of the support resources free of charge and can provide video tutorials to help with practice and learning routines as well as jam tracks specifically for the individual student's needs.

All of my lessons are structured to the individual student's needs and allow time for students to give feedback and present ideas to enable me to help them develop into the player they want to be.

Last but by no means least lessons should always be enjoyable, dare I say 'Fun'. Without developing a love for music and your craft, guitarist can miss out on the enormous joy that playing can bring.
