1. The starter
The section of the lesson where you are warmed up to the lesson's content and recap what was covered in the previous lesson(s). This has been proven to support learning by revisiting past content to keep it fresh and help you remember it long-term.
2. Learning the content
The section of the lesson where you are introduced to the lesson's new content and have a chance at lightly using it to become familiar and comfortable with the concepts.
3. The main
The section (or sections) of the lesson where you have a chance to use the newly-learned content with independence and receive feedback on what went well and what can be done to make your use of the new content even more effective.
4. The plenary
The section of the lesson where you will receive your next steps to success, discussing what went well and what needs to be done next in order to move forward in your learning journey. This can also be given in the form of extra tasks to complete in preparation for the following lesson.
What separates my lessons from other teachers is that your lessons will be personalised to you, where I will always challenge you in lessons to help you noticeably become the best English speaker you can be.
I use a range of types of activities ranging from worksheets and games to online quizzes and flash cards. I believe that lessons must be engaging and fun so that the learning becomes natural and fluid.
Prior to your first lesson, I will invite you to a 5-10 minute learning conversation to get to know your language ability in order to give you the most effective learning possible.
I look forward to leading you into becoming a fluent and proficient English speaker!
