Brief paragraph highlighting my experience:
My teaching experience at the college level spans the last 13 years. I have instructed 100s of classes online over this time period, working with students in large groups and in one-on-one sessions. My educational educational experience includes a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s degree in English. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D in Philosophy with Argosy University. In addition to teaching, previous experience includes being a journalist for the New York Post for more than eight years where I had the good fortune to interview live such individuals for articles as Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Governor Mario Cuomo at the time, and various other sports and political dignitaries. After the New York Post I moved to Los Angeles, California where I became editor-in-chief at a large publishing firm. My responsibilities included being in charge of a large staff of photographers, editors and writers. Soon thereafter, I was offered a position as a Product Development Manager with the Upper Deck Company in San Diego, California, where I worked for eight years, leading a multi-million dollar business each year. My teaching career took off while I was with Upper Deck in the late 1990s. And my passion for teaching has continued ever since. I was recently (2011) recognized as a contributor to a new book called The Art of Thinking by Vincent Ryan Ruggiero.
Letter to students:
Dear Students: In my interaction with you, you will often hear the words perseverance, hard work and communication. These has been three of the keys to success in my life and I want to help you achieve your goals through these initiatives. When I communicate with you, my intent and goal is to help you succeed! But my goal is also to help you learn. And we will do that through perseverance, hard work and communication. Dale Carnegie once said of perseverance: “Don't be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.”
