Are you looking for help with study skills?
Are you struggling to manage your workload and get work in on time?
Are you getting stressed about deadlines and falling behind?
Do you need help with planning your work and meeting the learning outcomes for essays, assignments or projects?

These are all areas I would love to help you with.

I am a very experienced study skills tutor with a sympathetic coaching style and am highly qualified (BA degree and Master’s degree in Education) and suited to working with you if you are at university or college – 16 plus age.

I am based in Hove, UK and could support you online but also happy to potentially work with you locally, face-to-face.

I’d like to highlight a few examples of the ways I’ve supported students

Supporting you if you are struggling
I spent the last 15 years working as a Student Support and Guidance Tutor in two universities, offering support and guidance to students in difficulties of various kinds and, particularly on study strategies.

Supporting you if you are feeling overwhelmed or have fallen behind
I have written a short ‘self-help guide’ called ‘Getting Back on Track’ which was based on hundreds of interventions to support students who were struggling. I would be happy to send you a free copy if you are interested.

It is full of simple, practical ideas that are real life-savers:
• How to ask for help and where to go
• Managing your time and planning
• Simple strategies for prioritising tasks
• Using your time effectively
• Overcoming procrastination

Understanding the demands of academic work
For 20 plus years I was a teacher of secondary age pupils and university students. I have helped many students plan many essays and assignments and understand the demands of such tasks and the difficulties they pose for many students for different reasons.

Supporting dyslexic learners
I have worked extensively (over 6 years) with students with Dyslexia and have an excellent understanding of the difficulties they face. I studied for a post-graduate certificate in literacy development (a course in Dyslexia support) and used this learning in supporting students; helping them with planning, reading and note-taking strategies and memorisation techniques.

I’m sure I can make a difference to your situation.
