Stephen Mallett

In my lessons you will have a clear lesson objective, and that objective will build upon what you learnt in the previous lessons. Throughout the lesson I will ensure that you understand what you are being taught, and why it is being taught. There will be tasks that are designed to reinforce your understanding, and that consistently build layers of knowledge. We will always aim too achieve the highest grades, and I will give you clear examples of what is required to achieve these grades. You will receive constant feedback on the work completed, and, if necessary, guidance on how to improve your work. It is very important that students feel at ease, and feel as though you are there for them; with this in mind, I make sure that all of my lessons are conducted in a relaxed and friendly environment; one where the student feels comfortable and confident, so that they are able to ask questions and interact with me.

I have over twenty years’ of experience teaching in the classroom and one to one. I have extensive knowledge of both the English Language and Literature GCSEs, and have also taught both the English Literature and Language Advanced Levels for over twenty years. My main aim is to maximise potential of all of my students, and I not only use my extensive knowledge of the subject to do this, but my wealth of experience teaching students with a wide variety of academic ability, and special educational needs.
