I have been an online Tutor for a year, helping students from Year 7 to 13.
I use a mixture of PowerPoints, worksheets, and whiteboard to discuss any topic in English such as Shakespeare, for which I have worksheets which explains how to decipher his language, creative writing, Romantic literature to the present, etc. I will go through the intricacies of different writing formats such as; plays, novels and poetry, explaining how you analyse each text and compare differences each format can bring. For your own writing I can explain/ help differentiate between formats such as a creative writing piece, a letter, an article, etc.
For students entering into exams I help curate a revision plan, as well as go through past essays/exams to identify areas for improvement and help explain teachers' feedback. I have great knowledge of a variety of exam boards, so whichever your school is using I will be able to thoroughly go through the exam and mark scheme, improving your understanding as well as guiding you to get the top grade.
For students year 7 to 9 I can provide simple tutorials for subjects you may find difficult, such as learning to understand the language of Shakespeare, beginners creative writing, grammar, etc.
My lessons are one-to-one, creating a safe and comfortable environment to discuss any issues you may be having with English, spending as much time as you feel necessary to understand subjects you are struggling with. I will also check back in on these subjects to know you still feel comfortable with these topics.
