I have been an education volunteer with museums for several years, so am I used to making lessons engaging and fun whilst also being educational. I have taught a range of ages, from primary school to year 11, so I will be able to cater for any level that is required. I also have experience with SEN children, so I can accommodate lessons to the students needs.
I will spend time and create unique presentations for the student, based on; topic, age of student, level of understanding, students interests and any SEN that might be present.
It won’t be sitting listening to me talk, as I like to engage students as I believe that is how people learn best. I will include multiple choice questions, free write answers and more, all to engage learning and to ensure the material is learnt!
If needs be, I can include references to the students hobbies and interests, for example, I could relate historical figures to tv show characters so that the material can be understood.
I have recently completed my masters in Classical Studies, so I am proficient to a high level. However, I have a life long love for all things history, so I am proficient in a multitude of eras and I am confident that I can help students, regardless of the era!
I am also proficient in teaching English literature, as that has also been a life long passion. I studied English Literature up until A level, but continue to read and analyse texts as I enjoy it so much! I also love Shakespeare, I was a member (and even treasurer) of my universities Shakespeare society, so I can help with any bard based woes!
